Andrea L. Stout is a wanderer, writer, and university lecturer, currently residing in Fes, Morocco. Over the past two decades, she has explored expatriation and storytelling, both as a focus of her writing and her research and teaching interests. Originally from the American Pacific Northwest, Andrea moved abroad at age twenty-two to teach English in China and has been traveling since. Prior to moving to North Africa, her journey spanned a variety of teaching positions across Northeast China, Northwest China, Tibet, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, with a European interlude coming in the form of a six-year graduate school stint in Glasgow, Scotland. Andrea holds a PhD in English Literature, with an emphasis on Creative Writing, from the University of Glasgow, but still believes in the magic of storytelling.
